As Jennifer, Miranda, and the rest entered the area, she couldn't help but notice how tall the mountains were. 'I should explore those mountains sometime...with mountains that big, who knows what could be up there...' She thought. Though, truthfully, they looked very difficult to climb. She was sure she could do it, but it would take awhile. After all, she didn't have any hands or even feet to help her with.
But she wasn't here to climb the mountain right now. First she had to help Miranda train, and, if possible, get a lot closer to mastering Mirror Move. Jennifer looked back at Miranda. "Miranda? Where do you usually play at around here? Did you want to train there or...?" Jennifer quietly asked as she looked around. The area around the mountain seemed nice, which probably meant that the mountain it's self was pretty rough.
Then a thought came to her mind. What were Theo and John going to do? Just watch? Maybe they would help train. Though Jennifer wasn't sure how they would do that. Especially poor John. 'Well...I'll leave my Mirror Coat as the last thing to train. Hopefully I can help Miranda a little bit before I try that attack.' Jennifer decided.

As the four pokemon entered the area, two out of the four were observing the height. Mira knew that Jennifer would probably be impressed by the height. Everyone who'd never seen the mountains close-up was. Unlike Jennifer's calm observation of the mountains, however, John was staring up, rather terrified.
"Ohhhhh, man, they're so tall! Th- there must be some really s-strong pokemon up there! he exclaimed, nearing panic-mode. Just the thought of the potential danger was making him nearly crazy with fear. Mira did her best to reassure him that they would be perfectly safe.
When the Cyndaquil heard Jennifer's question, she paused, taking the Seviper's feelings into consideration. "Well, I usually play in this big field of rocks on the base of the mountain, but I think we should stay here, so John doesn't get so scared," she said. John seemed to blush, embarrassed to be inconveniencing his new friends.
However, as soon as Miranda finished speaking, Theo cut in. "Aw, Mira! Are you kidding? The best way to train is by battling, and if we all fight the pokemon on the mountain together, we'll get way stronger than we will by just standing around in this field and blasting rocks. C'mon! Sis, Jenn! Um, John too. What do you say?" Mira shook her head firmly. John trembled. The Quilava looked disappointed that, so far, it was two-to-one. "Um, just the base of the mountain. It's not like we'll really climb that high..."[/b] he said. It almost sounded as if he was pleading. He really seemed to want to climb the Imposing Mountains pretty badly. John shook his head, and Miranda hesitated, unsure. She could tell that Theo wasn't just trying to be a troublemaker, as usual. He was earnest; he really wanted to climb, even just a little. Mira looked over at Jennifer, hoping the Dratini could help her decide.

Jennifer watched silently as John came close to a panic-attack. 'He really does get scared very easily...I have to admit...I'm glad I'm not like that.' Jennifer thought. However, John was probably right. With the huge size of the mountain, all sorts of Pokemon must live up there. 'Mostly Ground, Rock, and Ice type I'm guessing. But a few others probably live up there too...' She thought, trying to run through her trainer-gained knowledge of mountain Pokemon.
"I see..." Jennifer said, looking over at the big field near the mountain's base. That seemed about as good a place as any. However, it seemed like Theo thought otherwise. It looked like he wanted to climb up the mountain, probably more then he was admitting. Mira didn't seem to know what to do, so the final decision came down to her. 'Uhh...I don't want to make John scared, but, he won't get any further in getting over his fear if he doesn't try...' She thought.
"John...I think it's best if we do train on the mountain, actually...Theo has a good point. We'll probably become stronger if we train there." She said calmly. And truthfully, Jennifer wanted to climb to mountain too. She hadn't planned on it, but if she could do some climbing now, that'd be great. "And John...if you go to the mountain, it'll be one more step toward conquering your fear. Your not alone, if some scary Pokemon do attack, we can all attack back if we need to..." She added.

The three pokemon watched as Jennifer made her decision. Theo looked nearly overjoyed, Mira looked like she was pleased, but nervous, and John trembled slightly. The Seviper was the first to speak up. "Y-yeah. I g-guess you're right, Jennifer... I won't be able to become less scared if I hide all the time... Let's go..." he said. Even though he was still obviously quite nervous, he had put a look of determination on his face. It looked as if he was quite serious about getting over his fear. Theo grinned and gave John an encouraging nod.
Mira hopped ahead. "Well, if we all agree to start up the mountain, we should probably go to this place that I've been to once before--it's a good place for training, and it might have other pokemon we can fight, too! Follow me!" she said. She began walking toward a trail that led up the side of the mountain. The Quilava and the Seviper followed, the latter slightly hesitant.

Jennifer smiled slightly at John. "Thanks. Don't worry too much. It'll be okay..." She told him. Although she knew full well that she couldn't guarantee that, she was confident enough to be pretty sure. After that, she turned her attention back to Miranda. It sounded like she knew of a special place to train. The more she thought about it, the more she wasn't too surprised by this. After all, it seemed like Miranda wanted to become stronger too. It made sense that she would know of a training place.
"Sounds great." Jennifer quietly said with a nod. She slithered after Miranda, and was even able to keep ahead of Theo and John. 'It's nice to finally be more mobile on land...I guess I don't have to worry about it much anymore. Even when climbing up a mountain.' She thought as she slithered.

The slope started out gentle, making it pretty easy for all of them to climb. However, after about ten minutes of walking, the path began to take on a steeper incline. John, who had been limb-less his whole life, didn't find it too difficult, although it might be a different story for Jennifer. Theo and even Miranda seemed to be having difficulty, too; although the Quilava seemed to be getting more tired than his sister. "Hah...Maybe this...is why...nobody climbs...this mountain..." he muttered, panting from the climb. Mira, who was having an easier time, glanced at him in amusement. "Oh, you're such a sissy, Theo," said the Cyndaquil tauntingly. Theo glared, but didn't reply.
Suddenly, something blue streaked towards them from somewhere on the wall-like cliff above the group. Mira leaped back, narrowly avoiding being hit by the blur. It stopped in front of them, revealing it to be a Riolu. He glared at the four pokemon before him. "All of you. Get out. Now. I'm only warning you once," he snapped. John practically recoiled as he saw the Riolu. He cringed away, frozen with fear. Theo fired up his back flames, for which Mira glared at him.
"Theo, you idiot! Fighting a member of the Dimensional Guard won't do us any good!" she growled at him. She then turned to the Riolu. As she did so, all the defiance she showed around Theo, John, and Jennifer disappeared, replaced by the timid Cyndaquil from before. "Um, sir, we don't mean any harm to anything. All we want to do is train a bit. There's a good training spot near--" she began, but was cut off as the Riolu spoke over her. "Too bad!" he barked. "Train at the base of the mountain. You civilians have been told, time and again, to keep away from here! Especially kids like you. You're not worth my time."
At these words, both Miranda and Theo seemed to suddenly become furious. "I'm not a kid!" "I am not weak!"[/b] they cried, almost simultaneously. John seemed to become more determined, but it appeared that something about the Riolu scared him too much to even consider trying to fight it. The Riolu seemed quite startled by this reaction, but quickly regained his composure. "Hmph. I'll give you one last chance. Leave, or I will be forced to hurt all of you," he growled.

Climbing up the mountain was no piece of cake for Jennifer. Sure, she had gotten better with slithering, but as soon as the path got steeper, she found herself having to climb at a slower pace. She had fallen behind Miranda and Theo, but she was able to keep herself ahead of John. Since she was slithering behind the two siblings, she could clearly hear them talking, and couldn't help but laugh a little at Miranda's taunt.
She stopped, as if frozen, when something blue almost hit Miranda. To Jennifer's surprise, there was a Riolu standing in front of them. Why was a Riolu here? Even in the first dimension, where Jennifer had come from, she had only seen one trainer with a Riolu during her travels. And she had never seen it's evolved form, Lucario, for herself before. That's because most people didn't know where they lived, finding a Riolu was very rare. 'This isn't the first dimension though. Pokemon are more free to live where they choose here.' Jennifer remembered.
She observed everyone's reactions. John seemed terrified, perhaps not able to even think of fighting the Riolu. Theo was ready to battle, but Miranda didn't seem to want him too. 'A Dimensional Guard? What is a Dimensional Guard...?' She thought, hearing what Miranda told Theo. Unlike most Pokemon, Jennifer knew nothing of the Dimensionl Guard. Yet just hearing the words gave her a small, nagging feeling. As though she had to be as cautious as possible with this Riolu.
Miranda's attempt to reason with the Riolu made it obvious that he would not listen. On top of that, the Riolu had managed to make both of the siblings angry. It seemed like a battle was becoming unavoidable at this point. Jennifer ran through a mental list of her items, trying to figure out if she had anything that could help her or the others. It was then that she realized she was hoarding a stash of items, much like the Dragon-type she was. The red berry came to her mind first. It would increase her power and allow her to be more of a match if the Riolu was powerful. But it was three, or possibly, four against one. Did she really need to use it?
Another thought came to her mind. What if the Riolu wasn't the only Dimensional Guard on the mountain? Hadn't John mentioned something about the Dimensionl Guard being on the mountain? He implied a plural. The Red Berry was a pretty good idea in that case. Jennifer took the Red Berry out and popped it in her mouth. She then swallowed and waited to see what would happen. "Miranda, Theo, John...do either of you want to leave?" Jennifer quietly asked them. If the answer was 'no' then they'd have no choice, but at least she was a little more ready now.

While Mira and Theo faced the Riolu, all three of them glaring and the former two growling, John realized that Jennifer didn't seem to know what the Riolu standing in front of them was. She looked more confused or curious than scared. One who knew what the DG was was rarely anything but scared. He inched over to her, and whispered, almost as if he didn't want to be heard by the Riolu. "Uh, the Dimensional Guard is kinda like the Creator's personal army. They guard stuff he doesn't want anybody to see or touch, and they are often selfish and corrupt, attacking innocent pokemon for extra power... I heard they were on this mountain, but I don't see why they'd be so opposed to letting us train..." he trailed off, staring nervously at the Fighting-type.
When Jennifer asked whether they wanted to leave, John was quick to nod 'yes'. However, Mira looked reluctant to go, and Theo appeared to be determined to fight. The Riolu heard the Dratini's question and narrowed his eyes. "Oh, it's too late now. These two fools have already defied what I said. Now, as you civilians have already been warned repeatedly to stay away from the mountains, and I have specific orders to keep anybody and everybody away from here, it was already too nice of me to give you a chance at all. Now, I will crush all of you as a lesson to you and any others foolish enough to come here!" he growled. Then, before even waiting for any reply, he used Screech, quickly followed by a Quick attack aimed at Theo. The Quilava, not expecting the sudden combo, was knocked flying back into the cliff wall behind them. He quickly leaped back to his feet, growling.
As his opponents were hopefully distracted by the Screech and attack, Riolu pulled out a walkie-talkie and quietly said something into it; probably calling for backup.

When John came over to Jennifer and told her more about the Dimensional Guard, her expression turned a slightly more grim calmness. The creator's army? 'Oh my...we outnumber him though. I hope he can't take all four of us, if it comes to that.' She thought. "I see. Thank you for the information." Jennifer whispered to John. Then she looked up at the Riolu. It didn't look like he was going to give them a choice either way, and she had expected as much.
Then he released a horrible sound, a Screech attack. "Urgh..." Jennifer mumbled as her Defense lowered. And before she knew it, the Riolu had also knocked Theo. As she turned to see the Fighting-Type, she noticed that he was using some sort of communication device. "It's as I feared..." Jennifer whispered to herself. She didn't want to waste any time, so she as quickly as she possibly could, she a Thunder Wave at the Riolu.
