Blake entered the Forest and looked around. "How quaint..." he mumbled, "I hope there are rest stops." He looked over at the Ledyba again, noticing that he seemed quite content. It seemed almost as if he was just waiting for something. He ignored it for now though, he had too many other things running through his head. "No, I think I like calling you Édouard if thats okay. It makes me feel more...at home." he explained. Blake remembered all of the extravagant names of family members and guests to the palace. He was one of the only ones with a simple name around there.
As Blake continued his ears began to twitch occasionally. 'Wow' he thought, 'these ears have exceptionally good hearing. I can hear quite far away with them, and they detect things I never would have heard before.'

"Hm." was Édouard's simple response. He never thought that Blake would bother to show even that much respect. For a brief moment, he pondered the idea that maybe he wasn't as discourteous as the Ledyba first took him for. But he quickly shoved that thought out of his mind. He agreed to come with him simply because he wanted to see firsthand how long he would last in this world.
As they wandered along, there was a commotion up ahead. Barely noticeable several yards ahead were three figures; one of which seemed to be hiding behind another from the final one. Because of Blake's superior hearing, he would be able to discern their conversation as such:
"Sir, your friend has something we need. I advise that you step aside before I'm forced to incapacitate you both." The voice resembled the sternness of a police officer or peace-keeping official, but seemed too impatient and not so much in favor of 'peace'. In fact, it sounded like he wanted to knock them both out.
"Please, Markus, don't let him hurt me!" A high-pitched female voice on the brink of breaking down out of fear.
"I won't let you hurt Sabrina! All you Dimensional Guard are the same. 'For the protection and well-being of the innocent'? Lies!" This male was also struggling to keep his composure, and it was highly evident in his voice that he was not about to give up on his friend.
Édouard squinted, trying to make out what was going on up ahead. He couldn't hear quite so well, so he had no clue. "Vat is zat?" he asked himself quietly.

Blake had heard the entire commotion. He was accustomed to living in a well ruled kingdom with his Father on the throne. His father was a good and fair leader. Blake had wanted to take the throne for ages and rule the way he desired, but he had never had a chance. Although he was now in a completely different dimension he still felt some entitlement. 'If anyone is going to treat people like that it is going to be under my rule' his mind seemed to utter. His twisted logic made him want to help the two out, or at least find out if what was being done was just.
His ears had picked up on Édouard's mumbling. "I'll go up ahead and find out. Come along if you please." Blake then began speeding towards the scene of the ruckus. Once he was in earshot of the group he began yelling, "Hey! What's going on here?" He was able to see that the two were quite fearful, almost panicked. He began rethinking 'If this is what an unjust kingdom brings...maybe I have been mistaken.' His thoughts didn't get much farther than that because he had a situation to deal with.

Édouard blinked as Blake rushed ahead to find out what was up. The fact that a Sneasel's senses were more acute than a normal Pokemon's had completely slipped his mind. Nonetheless, he figured that Blake was getting into more trouble than he could handle, and decided to keep an observant following distance. Zis should be good... he thought, a dark grin emerging on his face. Once he got close enough to see the Riolu, he became even more delighted. Not many have what it takes to stand up to the Dimensional Guard and live to tell about it.
All three Pokemon turned to look at Blake as soon as he shouted to them. The two Pokemon keeping their distance from the other were a Geodude and Bellossom. Bellossom was hiding behind Geodude, implying that the former was Sabrina and the latter was Markus. Facing them across the path was a Riolu, presumably the Dimensional Guard officer.
The Riolu was the first to speak. "This is none of your business," he remarked. "Stay out of this, or else."
"Please, help us!" cried Sabrina. "We can't let them take my necklace! It's the only thing I have to remember my mother..." Indeed, she had on a sparkling pearl necklace. It looked priceless to begin with, and being a family heirloom would make it doubly valuable. Why would an officer want to confiscate it...?

Blake stared at the Riolu with disgust. "Excuse me, how dare you tell me what to do." Blake's feelings of entitlement began growing stronger. "I will do whatever I please and I hope you know that I am..." he stopped as he knew mentioning he was a prince would only make the Riolu laugh at him. He started up again "I am... very strong...And if you can't give me an extremely good explanation for why you are treating these pokemon this way I will have to show you my power." He got in between the Riolu and the two endangered pokemon.
He glanced back at the Geodude and Bellossom and felt something that he hadn't felt in a long time, empathy. He stared back at the Riolu with a fiery glare "What reason do you have for treating them this way?" he inquired in a very intense tone. 'I feel like I am on the right side this time...Doing the right thing...This is what it feels like.'

As Blake spoke, Riolu whipped out a pair of clear, red-tinted shades and put them on with a single hand motion. He glanced at Blake for a moment, and the shades began to emit a soft beeping noise as they made calculations. The Riolu grunted in acknowledgment. He then turned toward Markus and Sabrina, and after a few seconds of beeping let out a chuckle. He put up the shades again and faced Blake. "This Bellossom's pearl necklace is vital to the dimension," he answered. "You civilians know not the importance of such a token. You leave me no choice but to use lethal force."
Markus growled - he was afraid of this. He motioned to Sabrina for them both to step back. "I'll stay back and keep her safe," he whispered, knowing that the Sneasel would be able to hear him but Riolu wouldn't. "Do your best."
Édouard was now behind a tree on the sidelines. He wanted to get a good view of the imminent battle without becoming involved himself. He was snickering to himself, unaware that anyone would know he was even nearby, let alone hear him.

Blake gave a very slight nod toward Markus and Sabrina. He was getting braced for battle when he realized that he had lost Édouard somewhere along the way. It was then that he heard a faint snickering from a tree nearby. He gave a piercing glare in that direction, almost used his leer attack, but decided to save his strength for the imminent confrontation. With no more delay or announcement Blake silently and swiftly approached the Riolu and unleashed an Ice Shard attack.
He was hoping that the element of surprise and the first attack would aid him in some way. 'If he hits me with even one fighting move it would be extremely bad...I must avoid his attacks at all costs.' These were the thoughts that flashed through the back of his mind as he attacked.

Édouard froze; he thought he was so well hidden in the foliage, but he could swear that Blake was looking right at him. Did he give himself away? He shrunk defensively behind the trunk of the tree, planting his back against it. Maybe he should just stay out of this battle...
Riolu waited, asking himself why Blake was looking in that direction so fiercely. He figured it was nothing and returned his focus to Blake's first maneuver. And so, he easily saw the attack coming. He began to rush at Blake with a Quick Attack, jumping off to the side of the Ice Shard on the way. He gradually picked up in speed as he came closer and closer to Blake. He was definitely skillful, and probably couldn't be too far below Blake's power level, if even that.
Markus stayed close to Sabrina, watching both Pokemon carefully. It was certain that they were both more powerful than they were... They hoped that they didn't have to get involved.

'He's stronger than he looks, evading my attack like that...But still...I must defeat him, I will not be disgraced!' Blake followed the Riolu's moves as best as he could. His keen senses were able to lock onto his movements fairly quickly, but still the Riolu was moving extremely fast. 'It may be hard for me to hit him moving at that speed. But I won't allow him to take the offensive! I must remain in control of this battle.'
As the Riolu got closer and closer Blake readied his claws for an attack. He waited for the right moment and tried to meet the Riolu's Quick Attack head on with a Slash attack.

The Riolu saw Blake readying his claws in retaliation, but he wasn't about to back down. The Dimensional Guard doesn't play chicken. Instead, he increased his speed. Less than a second later, the collision happened, and although there was a lot of force behind Riolu's impact, the Slash attack knocked him backward. He slid on the ground, his right arm helping keep his balance and to slow him down. As soon as he regained his footing, he launched himself back at Blake with a Force Palm. He knew that Sneasel has a huge weakness to Fighting-type moves, and the sooner he could hit him with one, the sooner this battle would tilt in his favor.
All three spectators were watching, crossing their fingers. Markus and Sabrina, of course, were hoping for Blake to put an end to the Riolu, but Édouard was hoping that the Riolu would teach him quite a lesson. The Ledyba wasn't planning on letting him lose completely, however; his plot went even further than that. If Blake started to lose, as he anticipated, he would emerge and conquer the Riolu while he was weakened from the fight. That would indeed embarrass Blake and prove Édouard's point.
Hopefully, it wouldn't come down to that, for Blake's sake...

The collision had forced Blake backwards but he as well, was able to regain his footing without too much trouble by planting his feet and sliding back a few feet. Then he looked up he saw the Riolu coming at him once again, this time with a force palm. 'Dang it, if that thing hits me...I'm through. I can't let that happen.' As the Riolu grew closer and closer he tried slowing down the opponent by taking a deep breath and releasing a frosty gust of Icy Wind. 'I must evade that attack at all costs.' was the only thought that continues echoing through Blake's mind.

The Icy Wind attack hit Riolu with full force, but he gritted his teeth and kept going. The damage he would take from this attack was minuscule compared to the damage he could cause with his Force Palm. He fought the wind, boosting his speed with Quick Attack, and leaped into the air with the new speed he had gained. In the air, the breeze wasn't as strong and he was able to use gravity to add force to his Fighting-type attack. The only way Blake would be able to avoid this move would be if he stepped to the side right now. That is, if he was able to react quickly enough...

Blake's mind was shuddering 'He didn't even slow down that much...' he thought. He began wincing and braced for the attack as best as he could. Since he saw the opponent was coming from above he held his arms up shielding his face in an X formation. Although, while he was defending, he did release a screech attack in one last hope of driving the Riolu off course.
'This is going to be bad...I hope I can continue battling after this one.' Blake thought. 'Or else, what will those two poor pokemon do?' He closed his eyes and prayed his screech attack would at least distract the Riolu.

Watching Blake get into a defensive position like that only increased the Riolu's confidence even further. However, as the piercing noise was blasted at him, his eyes widened, and he suddenly lost his concentration. The last thing he had expected was a Screech attack, and with it ringing directly in his face, he lost all focus and clumsily missed Blake by several inches, slamming into the ground face-first. He tried to peel himself off the ground quickly, but it would be no use. His defense lowered, and down in a vulnerable position, he was now wide open for a real attack from Blake.

Blake heard the Riolu slam into the ground but felt no pain. He slowly took his arms away from his face and looked around. 'Aha! My screech attack must have worked, and better than I thought it would!' he thought excitedly. Realizing this was his chance to make an offensive strike, he acted as quickly as possible.
As the Riolu tried to peel himself off the ground, Blake swiftly attempted to jump on his back and rake at him with multiple slash attacks. "This is my battle!" Blake said "I don't care who you claim to be! I won't lose to you!"

The Riolu grunted in pain, his back getting massacred by Blake's razor-sharp claws. He slipped again, causing him to stay down longer and therefore take more hits. But before long, he pushed himself up with one harsh motion, which would cause anyone on his back to fly off (probably not at a long distance, but at least off of his back). He turned around immediately and rushed at Blake with a Counter move, fueled by the multiple Slash hits from moments before. He appeared somewhat weakened by the hits, but kept his composure and was still attacking at close to one hundred percent.

As Blake was thrown off he couldn't help but groan with distaste "Bahh!" he yelled as he regained his footing. 'I would have liked to rake at him some more, that little scoundrel...' As he was thinking about this he had completely forgotten that the Riolu might be planning some type of counterattack. ((Heh...COUNTER ... ATTACK...)) As he looked up he saw the Riolu speeding at him again seemingly unharmed. Although Blake could see the physical scratches and damage that he had caused, it didn't seem to affect his fighting spirit and strength. 'I can't let that hit me or im so...DEAD...' he thought desperately.
Blake attempted to dodge the hit by using agility and sidestepping moments before the Riolu reached him. He was still hit on the side, it turns out the Riolu was faster than he had expected. He flew off to the side and struggled to get up. Although he hadn't taken the full hit, the attack was very strong, from any angle.

The Riolu smirked, having just delivered a successful hit, even if it wasn't a direct one. He watched Blake struggle and knew that the battle would end in his favor. Any Force Palm attack from him at that point would be practically the blow to end all blows. He was caught up in the moment, he was going to teach Blake a lesson for messing with the business of the Guard. He rushed at him, another Force Palm attack at the ready...
But instead of hitting a Sneasel with the move, he hit a Ledyba instead. Yes, instead of Blake sitting vulnerably in the open, Édouard was standing comfortably in his place, blocking the Force Palm with a Reflect. Apparently, he had just used Baton Pass, leaving Blake behind the tree from which Édouard had been watching the fight. "Enough!" he said, once the bemused Riolu figured out what happened. "Zis is nonsense. Ze Sneazal has no chance. I vill be ze one to take you down!"

Blake winced when he saw the Force Palm attack coming and he braced for impact. But then he felt nothing. He opened his eyes and saw that he was safe behind a tree. 'What the...' he thought, 'wasn't I just about to get walloped? Well, can't complain...' He peered around the tree to see that Édouard had taken his place. He was insulted but thankful at the same time. Only the fact that he was insulted seemed to show. "Hey!" he yelled from the protection of his tree, "I could have taken him down!"
Although his talk was big he made no attempt to re-enter the fray. He knew deep down that he was probably beaten. So, he continued to watch from his place of protection waiting to see what would happen.

Markus and Sabrina were especially shocked; one moment they were looking at a Sneasel, and the next there was a Ledyba. They switched places so fast, they could have blinked and missed it. But they weren't complaining, at least they had more Pokemon on their side than they had previously thought.
"You are trying my patience," snarled the Riolu, obviously losing his cool. "I'll take you all on if I have to!" He brought his arm down karate-style on Édouard's Reflect, shattering it on impact and hitting the Ledyba squarely on the forehead. Was that a Brick Break? Riolu doesn't learn that move naturally...
Édouard stumbled backwards from the hit, but regained his footing and growled. "Ha! You cannot handle me alone!" he taunted. "Look at you, picking on ze veak like 'hoho, I am ze bomb, I can beat anyone I fight.' Oh, zat says a lot vhen you only fight anyone you can beat!" He took to the air and rushed at the Riolu at an impressive speed, readying a Double-Edge attack.
